Furthermore, the team of professionals from CIES is permanently at the disposal of the Master's degree. The Centre for Initiatives in Social Economy (CIES), founded in Barcelona in 1992 to combine the experience of a group of professionals and academicians from the area of social economy and the third sector, is academically responsible for the MES-d. To fulfil its task, the CIES is integrated as a research group in the University of Barcelona and it is the main driving force behind the Research Centre on Citizenship and Civil Society (CISC).
